1. Disclosure (§ 25 MedienG)
Disclosure pursuant to § 25 (5) of the Austrian Media Act (Mediengesetz):
- Media owner (Medieninhaber): Rafael Vrecar
- Place of residence (Wohnort): Vienna, Austria
- Contact: rafael@vrecar.eu
This website serves the personal presentation of the media owner (curriculum vitae). Its content does not go beyond the presentation of the media owner’s personal and professional background and is not intended to influence public opinion; the reduced disclosure obligation of § 25 (5) of the Austrian Media Act therefore applies. The website is private and non-commercial: it offers no goods or services, contains no advertising, and generates no revenue.
2. Privacy policy
The following information explains, pursuant to Art. 13 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which personal data is processed when you visit this website or contact me, on which legal basis, for how long, and which rights you have.
2.1 Controller
The controller within the meaning of the GDPR and the Austrian Data Protection Act (Datenschutzgesetz, DSG) is Rafael Vrecar, Vienna, Austria, reachable at rafael@vrecar.eu. A data protection officer is not required by law and has not been appointed.
2.2 General principles
- This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking, or advertising tools.
- No third-party content is embedded: all fonts, styles, scripts, and images are delivered from this website’s own server, so visiting this site triggers no requests to external services.
- The website is delivered over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS).
- You can browse this website without actively providing any personal data; the only personal data processed is what your browser transmits for technical reasons (see server log files below).
- This privacy policy applies only to this website, not to external sites it links to.
2.3 Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by World4You Internet Services GmbH, Hafenstraße 47–51, 4020 Linz, Austria (“World4You”). When you visit this website, the web server automatically records the following data in server log files for reasons of operational security, stability, error analysis, and access statistics: the requested page (URL), the browser type and version, the operating system used, the referrer URL (the previously visited website), the host name and IP address of the accessing client, and the date and time of the server request.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in the secure, stable, and efficient provision of this website. The log files are stored for two weeks and then deleted automatically. World4You also provides me, as its hosting customer, with error log files that help diagnose technical problems; these are likewise deleted automatically after two weeks. I do not merge log data with other data sources or use it to identify individual visitors. The access statistics made available to me contain no personal data.
World4You processes this data as a processor within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR on the basis of a data processing agreement. Its servers are located in Austria; no personal data is transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA for the operation of this website. Further information is provided in World4You’s privacy statement and its FAQ on web server log files (in German).
2.4 Contact by email
If you contact me by email, the data you provide (your email address, your name if given, and the content of your message) is processed solely to handle your request and possible follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract or a comparable relationship, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in answering enquiries addressed to me. Your messages are treated strictly confidentially, are not shared with third parties, and are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed to deal with your request, unless statutory retention obligations require longer storage. Please note that unencrypted email is not a fully secure communication channel; do not send confidential information by unencrypted email.
2.5 Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you have the right of access (Art. 15), the right to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), and data portability (Art. 20), as well as the right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. To exercise any of these rights, simply contact me at rafael@vrecar.eu.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority in Austria is the Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde (Austrian Data Protection Authority), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at.
2.6 Final remarks
You are neither legally nor contractually obliged to provide personal data; without the technically necessary data described above, however, the website cannot be delivered to your device. No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place. Should this website or the legal situation change, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly. Last updated: 12 August 2026.
